DONE DEAL: Arnaut Danjuma signs for Tottenham

Tottenham announced the signing of Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld. The striker had been sought after by AFC Ajax and PSV Eindhoven, but opted to return to England, where he previously wore the colors of AFC Bournemouth.

He arrives at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on loan until the end of this season. At the end of the period, Tottenham will be able to trigger the purchase clause with Villarreal in Spain. The 25-year-old Dutch striker still has a contract with Submarino Amarelo until the end of the 2025/26 season.

It is noteworthy that Everton, also from the Premier League, would be very close to finalizing the signing of Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld, but when Tottenham’s proposal would have swayed the striker who preferred to end negotiations with Everton and move to London.

This will be the third club outside the Netherlands that Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld will play for. At Villarreal, he scored 22 goals in 51 appearances. Even with 17 goals and 52 games for AFC Bournemouth, he managed to be more prominent when he played for the English club.

This change will also be key for Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld to try to become an option for the Dutch national team again. He came very close to playing in the World Cup with Louis van Gaal in Qatar, but injuries ended up reducing the chances of the striker who saw the World Cup in Qatar on television. Under the command of Ronald Koeman, he wants to regain his space and who knows how to become a more frequent player in the next summons.

  1. I feel this is the wrong move for him. At best, he will be bench option. In order to regain his form, he should find game time but it is hard to come with Son and Kane there.
