Fortuna Sittard announced the signing of Alen Halilović. The 27-year-old is signed until the end of next season with the option of an automatic renewal for two more seasons. Alen Halilović was in Croatia, where he was defending the colors of HNK Rijeka.
This will not be the first time that Alen Halilović has played in the Netherlands. In the 2019/20 season he played for SC Heerenveen and played 20 competitive games for the Fries and scored just one goal. After that he was released by AC Milan and played with Birmingham City and Reading in England.

Alen Halilović returns to the Netherlands, looking to rediscover the good football he played when he played for SC Heerenveen.
“It’s good to be back in Holland. I spoke to some friends who play for Fortuna Sittard and they were very excited about the club’s goals for the future. I’m really looking forward to starting playing for Fortuna Sittard and meeting all my new club mates” said Alen Halilović.
“Alen Halilović has always been recognized as having great potential and we believe that this potential and quality that he has is within him and we want to give him the opportunity to get all of that out. We believe we have the right conditions for him to be happy here with us and play at the highest level” said Américo Branco, director of football at Fortuna Sittard.
PSV crowned winners of JC shield. Lang with winner and can say he is the next crown jewel of Dutch football. He is such an artist on ball and crafty when in full stride. You just wanna see the ball go to him. Can pull something out of nothing. Man of the match and well deserved goal
Must say Trademark Peter Bosz football ( leverkusen days) and had Slot in his pocket. going laterally side to side, stretching opposition, creating space allowing forwards to move in and using the flanks to attack with de jong as target man
feyenoord did create good chances, I think 3-4, one goal disallowed which was rightfully ruled offside but apart from that they played into PSVs tatical play. PSV maintained possession for large periods and set comfortably exploring opportunities that came their way and eventually they scored.
Veerman vs Wieffer- Veerman really stood out in this one. Both defensively and offensively. Wieffer had few interventions but was mostly just running. While Veerman creatively stood supreme showing his authority . Even stengs looked faded in this department and lightweight as well. Did have few good intervention with his passes but that was it I think slot should have started Van der Belt but am not sure how both did in pre season and particularly stengs who arrived late
Have to mention Teze as well here, he was beast and really kept paixao, stengs and Hartman quiet. Stood his ground astoundingly and was rarely troubled or got beaten
I also liked that new PSV guy babardi, really played well in the middle linking and setting up. Had a goal disallowed, offside in the build up from de jong
bosz vs Slot – Bosz 1-0. Like I mentioned on top. Bosz outclassed him in the tatical play
For feyenoord I think their midfield with the departure of Kokcu will definitely need to be looked at as zeerouki partnership with Wieffer didn’t look productive and there was no cohesion between all three, stengs, Wieffer and zeerouki . It looked like they were playing on their own. Zeerouki also played mostly on the right at Twente and not sure whether how comfortable he will be playing on the left. Maybe they need more time as it’s still early days but they really need to sort this out before CL games

On the other hand, PSV seems to have all the right cards including that of the return Boscagli from injury. Really sewed up defense after the departure of Jarred Jarrad Branthwaite to everton
Dutch women seem surprised by South Africa’s speed and physicality. Not sure why, but the Lionesses need to reassert themselves and take control of this match.
Goalkeeper has been the player of the match so far!
Glad to see we can comment again normally. Godfried Roemeratoe was getting tired of so many random comments on his article 😀
Our team plays way too direct when Beerensteyn starts, which diminshes our overall fluidity and which is especially surprising to me considering how ineffective she generally is.
Thankfully Roord was in the right place at the right time (as she has been all tournament)!
I think we should switch to a back four as the current three back set moves like a glacier and is functioning primarily as a sieve.
I see no hope against Spain (if we can even hang on here) unless we figure out something better in the back!
Now van de Donk gets an unnecessary yellow and will miss the next match — disaster! But Beerensteyn scores, on a bad GK error… 2-0
Better defensively in the second half, played tighter on the SA forward who threatened them so much in the first half, instead of dropping off and letting her run at them., Alsom they stopped giving the ball away in midfield. SA was scary fast.
Too bad about Van de Donk, but she lost her head for a second and now has to pay the price. The GK, Van Domselaar, had a huge game—can she play for the men’s team? lol

This sucks man
Timber are doing very well at Arsenal and helped them to win Community Shield against City today. Ian Maatsen is proving his worth at Chelsea and will stay instead of transfer, Pochettino also start him as wingers in some matches, interesting to see how that will develop.
Reijnders are doing well at Milan as well. Here is his performance against AC Milan.

Maatsen needs to consider his playing time if he stays. its clear Pochettino sees him as versatility back up. LB, WB, LW and AM. Best option, renew contract and go out on loan.

If Pochettino has a plan for him, then he should stay. Otherwise, he should not renew and force the transfer, he is at EPL level and many other clubs will give him offer.

nothing is more pleasurable than watching raponoie is walking like a clown..The woke clown and the arrogant USWNT gets kicked out..
PSV will face stumgraz today…lets see…
This PSV team has everything to qualify and play in CL. All eyes on Lang.
Two players that have been impressive in the pre season. Sem steijn of Twente and Jizz hornkamp of Heracles. Keep a eye on both of them.
Babadi. 1-0 What a debut season he is having. Scrappy start from PSV though
Lang popping up on both wings. It’s always great to see this.
Veerman’s passing as usual top quality.
De jong 2-0. Typical header. Bakayoko pinpoint cross
PSV in full stride now.
De jong 3-0. Credit noa lang. All the hard work
PSV’s pressing game off and on the ball both have been excellent.
Sturm Graz pull one back.
HT. 3-1. One goal disallowed. PSV in commanding position.
Babadi looks like a good talent ( gini esque) shud get call up in JO
What a miss van Annholt.
I wish bayakoyo was a dutch
Bakayoko
Another big miss from luck. Great work from lang
PSV needs to bury those goals to stretch the agg
Scherpen has come up with some big saves for sturm
Sangare makes it 4-1. Veerman with free kick assist
Joel piroe scored twice for Swansea in the league cup. His intrest in the transfer also seems to have cooled down with him likely to stay and sign a new contract. Swansea is asking bit too much
Could have been a good addition in NT
It’s kind of funny when you get to hear candid comments from the players (although to refer to Beerensteyn as a star is a bit of a stretch…):
https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/38165137/uswnt-big-mouths-slammed-netherlands-star-beerensteyn
Very fortunate not to be down 2 goals at the half. The back three is getting shredded by Spain, which was pretty predictable. I don’t understand why they’re playing with that formation in this match. If the five in the midfield were actually doing anything to keep the ball, maybe it would be a different story, but right now nothing is working for the Dutch Lionesses…
75 minutes in and I can’t understand how Egurrola is still on the team let alone on the field. Slow, poor passer, worse decision-maker and literally offering nothing going forward or defensively. Van de Donk’s absence is enormous!
And now a devastating VAR penalty on a handball on the edge of the box
VAAAANNNNN
DDDDEEERRRRR
GGGRRRAAAGGGGTTTTT!!!!!!!!
Tough, close game. Spain a bit better, but Netherlands played a good game as well, could have won. Still haven’t heard an explanation why the penalty was called off.
To be honest good they lost because the style of football they were playing, waiting to pounce on counter was just utter disappointing.I only watched its and bits as it was so boring. I mean tatically. L Injuries aside All credit to jonker and the KNVB for appointing him.
Sarina Wiegman no 2 incoming. I hope KnVB is happy and will be merry making for what the team did.
If liverpool signs moses caicedo. It’s no stopping liverpool this season.
Not a great start to the season for the Dutchies, Kluiver was a sub, Bart Verbruggen was unused sub and Timber started but got injured.
@JB…Thanks to Beerensteyn..she is right about usa..the woke arrogant team went early to home…they were beaten by 15 year old boys some years ago when raponoe was at peak..anyways watching womans football is painful as football fan..its not bad minton or tennis….
Why the hell Tan haag signed 60 million Mason mount over 85 million moises caicedo??Mount looks like dead man…any thoughts??
Vandijk is on decline ,liverpool will concede goals, that would cost them trophy..
our next enemy is KNVB and koeman…September 7 th and 10th we play Greece and ireland respectively.its most likely they will get draw on even beat us…that will send us to play off thanks to van gaals work..When koeman is going to announce provisional squad??
PSV and feynoord is the hope in CL..PSV is in safe hands..
Leipzig thrashed Bayern 3-0 in the super cup. Simons started on the right in 4-4-2. Was ever dangerous with his penetrating runs but is finding it hard compared to eredivisie where it used to be smooth sailing. Was brought down often attracting harsh tackles. Still adapting to playing on the right, as finishing or final shots are not connecting compared to his stronghold of of cutting from the left and shooting from his right foot. Just to mention here Gravenberch shud look for a new club or go out on loan. He ain’t gonna get much minutes this season either
I thing in long run this is good for NT. Like I said Lang and Simons have to be playing on opposite ends.
Danjuma came off the bench for Everton and played some 15 minutes upfront as striker. Didnt saw much balls but was lively when he did. Did create one good chance from his header but iwobi was slow to react and buried what could have the equalizer.
Ajax looked good in their opener defeating Heracles 4-1. Brobbey was disappointing though. Too bulky and touches heavy. Ajax probably needs to look for a striker. Van den boomen and Tahirovich good combo building up their. Bergwijn as well looking sharp. It’s gonna be a competitive top 4 race for the title.
Van den boomen and veerman supremacy shud decide who gets the nod in NT. It will be a classic battle
Have to say Van den bommen’s set pieces were top notch. If you have to picture him in NT you need forwards who bring good arieal threat
Simons on the right is good for the NT. A front three of Lang, Depay, Simons, with Gakpo playing just behind Depay could be a formidable attacking group. Veerman scored a cracker of a goal against Sturm Graz. Rangers will be a good test for him. They gave him trouble last year in the CL qualifiers. Hope after a year of experience at PSV and with the influence (and positioning) of Bosz he shows out well. His right foot could be a real asset to the NT.
Mex meerdink,Joel piroe and Thijs Dalinga are our best strikers as of now..Brobbey,Weghorst cannot score goals..Depay is 30 minutes fit player now..Koeman has to think objectively and rationally(is he capable?)…..any updates on timber? though it doesnt affect much in NT..
