Almere City FC have announced the signing of experienced 31-year-old striker Rajiv van La Parra. He signs until the end of this season and arrives to help the club from the east of the Netherlands to win a place in next season’s Eredivisie.
Rajiv van La Parra was considered a major talent in Feyenoord’s youth system, but the Rotterdam club saw the striker leave for SM Caen. After a few seasons in France, he returned to the Netherlands, where he wore the shirt of SC Heerenveen.
He played for eleven clubs before signing for Almere City FC. After Feyenoord, SM Caen and SC Heerenveen, he also played for clubs such as Wolverhampton, Brighton & Hove Albion, Huddersfield Town AFC, Middlesbrough, Red Star Belgrade, UD Lodrones, Wurzburger Kickers and Apollon Smyrnis. In Greece, his contract ended in February 2022.
The striker had been without a club for more than a year, even so, the board and technical commission decided to bet on Rajiv van La Parra’s football. If he pleases the Almere City FC board and coaching staff, he will have his contract automatically renewed for another season.
