Ramon Leeuwin is the new assistant coach of AZ Alkmaar U18

AZ Alkmaar have announced a change in their youth coaching staff. Ramon Leeuwin becomes assistant coach to Michael van Zijtveld in the U18. He signed for one season with the club from Alkmaar.

At the age of 35, Ramon Leeuwin played for AZ Alkmaar for one season as a professional defender. He played only 18 games, but managed to be called up to the Surinamese national team.

“I had the opportunity to work in the AZ Alkmaar youth system during the last season and now I will have a more fixed role as assistant to Michael van Zijtveld. I was very happy with the opportunity, I am very grateful to AZ Alkmaar and Michael van Zijtveld who agreed to have me on his coaching staff. I already knew the club as a player and now I’m getting to know the club as a member of the coaching staff. This is fantastic” said Ramon Leeuwin.
