Burak Yılmaz announces his retirement and leaves Fortuna Sittard

Burak Yılmaz will no longer be a Fortuna Sittard player. The experienced Turkish striker announced his departure and consequently his retirement from the pitch. He was still under contract with the Fortunezen, but chose to end his career.

The striker arrived in Sittard-Geleen to be part of a project where he would have the opportunity to work on the club’s coaching staff and later take over technical command of the team at the edge of the pitch. But the plans did not materialize and his adaptation to Dutch football was not the best.

Burak Yılmaz opted to return to his native Turkey and begin his career as an assistant coach at Beşiktaş JK, where he played 96 games and scored 32 goals. He leaves Fortuna Sittard Stadion with a mission to help the club stay in the successfully concluded Eredivisie. There were 27 games for Fortuna Sittard and nine goals scored.
